Saving Money at the Beer Garden

Yesterday me and my friend Ilyana went to Mayfair in Harvard Square. We decided to enjoy a beverage outdoors on a cloudy day. There were two choices of beer gardens, the Corona, sponsored by the Boarder Cafe and the Sam Adams by Grafton St. It was an obvious choice to enjoy the corona family of beers because they were $4 as opposed to the sam which was $5.50.

However, while enjoying my pacifico and Ilyana with her modelo especiale I was worried that we had paid $4 for a 12 oz beer while the $5.50 was a pint. So we did some math to decide if we had been swindled!

We set up a little proportion that looked a little like this...

$4/12oz = $x/16oz

4x16/12= 5.33333

So, if the beer at the boarder cafe had been 16 ounces we would have had to pay slightly less. Plus the beers we had were from the bottle so they were pre-measured while the sam adams was from a tap and might not have been a full 16 ounces. We can debate the difference in quality and price in the beers and bottles vs. taps but overall we got the best value and we also got free chips and salsa!

Wayne's World and Moonwalker

In the movie Wayne's World, the character of Mr. Big or Frankie Sharp of Sharp Records is played by Frank DiLeo. He was also once Michael Jackson's Manager and was the producer of Moonwalker. In Moonwalker, Joe Pesci's character refers to himself in the movie as Frankie LiDeo, an obivous scrable of the producers name, but in the credits is called... Mr. Big.

"It's like, we're looking down on Wayne's Basement
Only that's not Wayne's Basement
Isn't that weird?"

"Garth, that was a haiku" (Not!)

My blog

Hello, This is my first blog post. I will be talking about all sorts of things I've been thinking about with number and other connections. It was inspired by some fun thoughts about averages and my favorite things, tv and sports. Enjoy...
